COUNSELLING & COACHING IN CHESHIRE AND MANCHESTER

Welcome to EvenMind Counselling and Coaching

A confidential space to explore the thoughts, feelings and challenges in your life

My name is Audra McKellar and I am a counsellor and life coach providing both short and long-term therapy to adult individuals and couples in Wilmslow, Sale, throughout Cheshire and Greater Manchester.

Counselling and therapy in a safe, comfortable and private setting

As a counsellor, my role is to give you a safe, confidential place so that you can talk to someone who won’t judge you and can help you make sense of things and understand yourself better. Thoughts and feelings can be expressed freely and in confidence. Counselling can help you resolve complicated feelings or, indeed, find ways to live with them. It can also help you recognise unhelpful patterns in the way you think or behave and give strategies to change them.

Together we can explore your situation in a way that leads to fresh perspectives - and perhaps a new understanding of yourself. Counselling isn’t about giving you solutions or advice, but empowering you to make your own changes.

Integrative counselling is a type of therapy that uses many different techniques that suit your particular circumstances, thoughts and behaviours rather than making you fit into one particular ideology. I also like to take a holistic approach as mind and body are completely intertwined and, as such, I like to look at how some simple lifestyle changes could help your mental health.

As a fully-qualified counsellor I am a member of the National Counselling Society and abide by their code of ethics.

What issues can counselling help with?

People come to me from all walks of life and for help with a wide range of issues. Here are a few of the more common difficulties that can be supported through counselling:

Feelings of stress or anxiety

Panic attacks

Relationship problems

Grief, loss or bereavement

Problems with addiction

Trauma and post-traumatic Stress

Abuse

Depression

Problems with confidence or Self-esteem

Anger management

Issues relating to sexuality

Difficulties at work or in retirement

Problems with family or uni life

Adult ADHD

Single Session Therapy

Single session therapy Single Session therapy is one session of therapy where the goal is to focus on the issue most bothering you with a view to kick starting the process of implementing change and taking the first steps towards a solution.

Here are a few of the issues that Single Session Therapy can help with:

Particular challenges

Getting more out of life

Relationship issues

Feeling that something just isn’t right

Can’t see the wood for the trees

Find a particular situation hard to navigate

Need help identifying particular patterns of behaviour

Self-development

Difficult decisions

Need a different perspective

What are the advantages of Single Session Therapy?

It is a proactive way of ‘staying ahead’ of any problems. It is more solution focused. Access to a therapist is quicker as you are not waiting for a regular slot to open up, You may feel that you don’t need longer term therapy.

There is, of course, the opportunity to have more sessions either as single sessions, as and when you need them, or a more traditional course of therapy.

Why Life Coaching?

When was the last time you felt you were living up to your true potential? In control of your life? Engaged in fulfilling relationships at work and at home? The chances are that you can't really remember. Life just sometimes gets in the way and all of a sudden, you are where you are and you're not sure how to get back on the right path. Sometimes you just feel stuck. Coaching can help you to unlock your potential, have the meaningful career, obtain peak performance in all areas of your life and have richer, more rewarding relationships.

How is Coaching Different?

A life coach is trained to help you see where you are now and then work with you to find ways for you to move forward. In this way they help you fulfil your potential, identify and acknowledge obstacles and ways of moving past them. This is often an action based approach. It is also a very collaborative and a coach will help to keep you accountable and focused on the path that you have planned. At the same time you will identify the obstacles that hold you back and work out strategies to overcome them.

How Can Life Coaching Help?

Working together I can help you with confidence, relationships, work-life balance, identifying your purpose, your sense of self and identity, addressing your triggers for anger and frustration and prioritising your own needs. Life coaching can guide you and provide the tools for you to see things from a different perspective, to open your mind and expand your vision of life and what you can do with it.

Audra is great therapist, with the amazing skill of making therapy an enjoyable process. Even through the tears and difficult issues, I still enjoyed my sessions with Audra as the balance of her warmth and humour made even the toughest times the best they could be. Her knowledge and experience span many different disciplines and every tool she suggested for me to try outside the therapy was really useful and simple to follow. I would highly recommend, I've never met anyone like Audra and I'm so glad I did.

Elektra, Online Counselling

"Audra has helped me with a number of issues over the past few months, and I would say one of the best things about working with her is that she fills you with confidence! She cannot see any reason why a person shouldn't believe in themselves and believes that they deserve a good life. That may sound an odd thing to say but so many of us, often subconsciously, just don't believe we deserve a good life and constantly put the feelings and needs of others before our own. You will definitely come away feeling much better!"

Jane, Sale

During my sessions with Audra, I found her to be attentive and understanding. She is always professional and very knowledgeable on a diverse range of topics. I found the sessions were extremely helpful to me with my issues and were flexible to allow me to further

scrutinise anything I felt required it. Audra was caring and empathetic yet also stretched me in the counselling sessions to challenge my own behaviours and rationale.

I would highly recommend Audra to anyone for counselling or life coaching.
